Holiday in Dubai

Arabian charm

The fastest growing city in the world, Dubai is a fusion of old and new, with its soaring skyscrapers, ancient mosques, exotic souqs, duty-free shopping malls and beautiful golden beaches. An increasing number of tourists are choosing a holiday in Dubai for its Arabian charm and state-of-the-art facilities. Dubai package holidays are particularly popular between November and April, as this is when the weather is coolest.

Palm-fringed beaches

Old Dubai is home to the narrow alleyways and ancient buildings of the Bastakia - a pedestrianised conservation area. Dating back to the 6th-century AD, the Jumeirah Archaeological Site is well worth a visit. Stroll along the stone walls and admire the ancient houses. For a look at some of the archaeological objects recovered from Jumeirah, visit the Dubai Museum. The long stretch of Jumeirah Beach is fringed with palm trees and is known for its clean sands and clear, warm waters. Next to the beach, the Jumeirah Beach Park features picnic tables and a children's play area.

Duty-free shopping

Holidays in Dubai are not complete without a shopping expedition, whether you take a trip to one of the duty-free shopping malls or busting local souks. If you're in the market for a new pair of gold earrings, necklace, or gold anything for that matter, head to the Diera Gold Souq where everything that glitters is 24-caret gold. To pick up a bargain head to the market stalls of Bur Dubai Souq, where you can find everything from fine fabrics and Arabian handicrafts to modern electronic goods. Dubai holidays offer lively evenings spent drinking in waterside wine bars, listening to popular DJs, and dining in fine restaurants.
